We make rainwater reuse possible, because cities need water to thrive.

We are developers of a new generation of nature-based water technology solutions for a sustainable built environment.

FieldFactors: developers of a new generation nature-based water technology solutions for a sustainable built environment.

We have a big problem: water is becoming increasingly scarce.
We believe cities can be the solution - we use the built surface to collect rainwater, and turn it into a valuable source for use.

Water is the most valuable asset on earth, and it is not an infinite resource. With the ever growing urban population and changing climate, cities are going to need more water.

Our goal is to make rainwater reuse the new standard in the built environment. To do that, we use the paved surfaces as catchment areas for rainwater, and use nature to treat it to the right quality and make it available for long-term use.

With our in-house knowledge on architecture, water technology & engineering al background, we bridge the gap between water quality technology & urban design. With our solution, we use water and green to create healthy & attractive cities.

Let’s make our cities green, healthy and future-proof!

In 2014, while looking outside during a heavy rain in the center of Amsterdam, Karina & Wilrik - the two founders of FieldFactors - noticed that the water on the street was difficult to drain; the sewer was overloaded.

This got them thinking. Why do we keep building our cities with kilometers of sewers to discharge rainwater and then bring it back through different pipes? Why not let nature do the work to store and treat rainwater where it falls?

With a background in architecture and product innovation, they founded FieldFactors in 2016, in Delft, to bring their vision to life.

Today, FieldFactors has grown into a multicultural team of designers, engineers & water scientists. A team which has won multiple international prizes for urban water innovation and works everyday to make cities better places to live.
